Cold Stone Ice Cream on Central Ave: NOT Impressed

I had heard wonderful things about Cold Stone Creamery in Yonkers/Scasdale so I was willing to wait twenty minutes on line for a sample. Bought the Black Forest Dream containing chocolate ice cream mixed with fudge, brownies and cherries. They scoop up a medium sized portion of chocolate ice cream and then fold in the extras (which you can also choose yourself) as you wait.

Visually the dish looks stunning since most of the toppings are on the upper surface of your portion. After eating them off, I was left with mostly pure ice cream. The pure chocolate ice cream was fairly tasteless. Anyone who thinks otherwise should do an A-B comparison with Baskin Robbins. At the ridiculous price (over $5) of this medium sized dish I expected real cherries. What I got were candied cherries that were better picked off. Brownies and fudge were excellent but too little was added.

The ice cream has a unique taffylike consistancy that allows for easy mixing or folding of the toppings. While some may enjoy this novel texture, I was unimpressed. I can only rate the chocolate flavor. Tastewise it was a DUD!
