Cocotte -- quick impressions

Had a really nice meal at Cocotte, the new french bistro in Park Slope, on Thursday night. Very good steak frites -- the meat was dynamite, I like my frites a bit crispier though. My companion had a good veal dish.

Lovely surroundings -- dark and romantic. They've done a great job with the renovation of the space.

Prices generally ran in the $16 to $20 range for entrees.

Nit-picky thoughts on improvements -- better bread (although the herbed butter is delicious) and cushions for the seats -- they were pretty uncomfortable.

All in all a wonderful addition to the neighborhood dining scene.
