Me and a buddy are going to Nola for the first time in 20 years. Joining up with a big group (mostly guys) but will be on our own a lot too.
Im a foodie, but this trip isn't good for quiet dining. Looking for more casual places, bar restaurants, gastropubs etc. with a fun atmosphere. I'm hoping to find cool places that aren't tourist traps. We are staying in the Warehouse district and got a great deal at Renaissance Arts.
Read great things about Cochon, Peche and Kingfish so I made reservations. Also at Emeril's but not sure it's a good choice. Anyone have thoughts on the first three or any other similar type restaurants? Cochon and Peche look great. Can't find as many reviews on Kingfish. What about Clancy's?
Also could use a good recommendation for a large group Sunday brunch and a good oyster bar or happy hour seafood place that the locals know. (Saw a recommendation for Luke's for 50 cent oysters and half price cocktails--that sounds great!).
