Cobble Hill trims and ends

Was wandering around the neighborhood this neighborhood and can report the following:

Fantastic brunch at Helen’s on Union across the BQE. Gigantic slab of great quiche with salad and bruschetta and the best fried potatoes I’ve ever had: thinly sliced and fried in clarified butter. You can eat in Helen’s large peaceful garden.

Whatever is going to replace the un-lamented Smitty’s has a liquor license.

Paninoteca now has a garden and it is lovely.

Chance has a garden that looks like a driveway with hanging plants. Anyone try the dim sum?

Le Petit Café on Court between Nelson and Luquer has a beautiful garden.

I got an ice cream cone at the Magic Fountain on Court (around 2nd) and it was pretty good. Man said the ice cream was homemade but I think “home-frozen” was more like it. Nice and chocolatey, not too sweet, a spare texture like old Sealtest.

There’s a big pool on Degraw between Nevins and Third!
