Had dinner at Cobalt last night (just got into town, really hungry, and didn't want to wander into the quarter without reservations).
Overall, we'd give it a B. Solid A to A+ food, service (though courteous) was really slow, and therefore a C.
Portions were good size, and really well prepared. I started with the Mussels with Tasso and Garlic Butter. Some of the best mussel's I've ever had, with a real kick to the butter sauce. I only wish we'd saved some of the bread to sop it up after getting done.
My wife had the wild mushrooms appetizer which I think came with corn (I really can't remember). She enjoyed it immensely.
I then had the grilled salmon with chorizo rice. An excellent piece of fish, grilled just how I liked it (medium). Very tasty.
She had the grilled grouper (I think it was the Gulf Catch of the Day, or something like that). It came with pan-roasted scallop (a single one) and a "green corn relish". She loved it.
Not sure why the service was so slow - the restaurant was really empty and it was only 8 PM.
Anyhow, we're off to Stella's for tonight.
Any recomendations for tomorrow night? We're in the CBD, have been told to skip Antoines, and am thinking about Bayona.
