coals in the bronx

Work at einstein hospital in the bronx, and went over to Coals, the new pizza place that opened up across the street for the first time after reading some of the reviews. The food was excellent and atmosphere great. All it needs is more customers, at least that is what it seemed like to me.
I got the margarita pizza, which is cooked on a grill, and is like a long thin flatbread, crisp on the outside chewy on the inside, with simple tomato sauce, some mozzarella and grated cheese, along with some olive oil drizzled over the top. It was great. My friend got the grilled veggie panini which she liked but I wasn't too fond of. The foccacia-like bread it was served sandwiched between was excellent, however the filling lacked real flavor.
The quality of their pizza is more than enough to make me want to go back and try the other items on their menu. If you live or work in the area you should definately check them out. It is a great change of pace for an area that is otherwise a culinary wasteland(except for Patricia's--another great pizza joint)
