I stopped by Club Kumbala, a recently opened Mexican restaurant in Castro Valley. First off the space is huge. I ordered the taquitos callejeros de pollos which were basically taco truck tacos served with rice and beans and a salad ($6.99). The meat was a bit dry and the beans and rice not too flavorful.
The reason I'm posting, though, is the drinks menu. Club Kumbala serves over 200 types of tequila AND Micheladas. I haven't seen micheladas at a restaurant north of the border before and I was ecstatic. Couldn't try one becuase of the lunch hour, but I'll head back just to down a cold beer with that glorious spicy mixture on these hot days.
Has anyone else seen Micheladas on the bar menus at any East Bay restaurant?
