After reading about Clover coffee on the LA board, I decided to try to find the closest available clover coffee machine. Lo and behold, there is one at Goodwin's Organics in Riverside, near UCR. I ventured over to find a newly opened Organic grocery store and cafe, and I'm so happy that Riverside has such a place.
The guys working there are oh-so-happy to tell you all about the different brews (not in a pretentious way), and so far, I've tried a Brazilian and a limited-supply Ethiopian Aritra #7 that has hints of blueberries and a lemony finish. Really fantastic.
The place just opened, so there are a few kinks in the layout to be worked out. Coffee/tea is on one side of the store, sandwiches, whole-wheat pizza by the slice, and salad bar/soup/steel-cut oats are on the other. There is a VERY small sitting area in the coffee area, but the actual lounge is upstairs. So, I paid a $25 membership for the year and take my coffee or pizza (about $2.70/8 inches--just tell them how much to cut) upstairs to a balcony that overlooks the hills behind UCR (nice while it's green) or into the lounge area that has a fireplace and TV. The lounge area is nice but a little sterile--it definitely needs better music (or no music) but has a lot of potential.
Anyway, I'm really excited to have such a place in Riverside.
