AWE-STRUCK!!!
Close encounter with the MOST EXPENSIVE Mango I have ever come across at 'Freshway Foodmart, Markham'!
Price of these two ' Miyazaki Kamyuku Mango ' ( $150 ) = Cost of a tasting menu dinner at ALO!!
BTW, those $10 each ' Gamagori Kankitsu Kumiai Tangerine Orange ' managed to play 2nd fiddle only!! :D
They appeal to buyers with too much money and too little sense. It is just a small step in correcting the first problem.
Money aside, apparently this Miyazaki mango is the pride and joy of the Japanese and revered by Mango lovers all over the world......not unlike Alba White Truffles to the Italians.
Experts actually use ' Brix ' measuring system, used for measuring sweetness in dessert wines, to monitor the sugar level of the fruit and ensure they meet the desired, regulated, sweetness level prior to selling these priced ones in ' auctions'! Aroma supposed to be amazing too?! Exposing one indoors can fill up a regular room with mango fragrance!
May be I'll try one if I win the lottery next week?! Ha!:D
Jeez and I thought it was costly to buy Mangoes from Pakistan here.
Matter of personal taste but being from the region here are my two top picks for the best mango in the world
