Clever Rabbit?

Question

Has Anyone been to Clever Rabbit lately? I'm coming from out of town to visit daughter and was hoping for a special meal (and have had a hard time getting a reservation ANYwhere). We are pescatarian and the veggie-forward menu looks fabulous, but I was disheartened when I read the Nagrant review in the Trib from this summer. Any recent comments?

Unless you're insisting on going to one of the 10-20 restaurants in Chicago that fill up way in advance, you should have no problem finding a reservation, assuming you're at least a little bit flexible on time of day and day of the week and don't insist on a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night. About 300 restaurants participate in Restaurant Week, and those particular restaurants may be booked. They are listed at www.choosechicago.com/restaurants/chicago-restaurant-week 
 (Note also, Restaurant Week deals aren't always great bargains, especially considering the typically limited selections.) But many terrific restaurants do not participate in Restaurant Week, and it should be easy to snag reservations at pretty much any of them. Within the past few months, I have had absolutely amazing dinners at several newer places: Giant in Logan Square (already mentioned above), City Mouse in the West Loop (it's the sister restaurant to Giant, same chef and similar style), and Band of Bohemia in Ravenswood (it's right at the Metra commuter rail station so it's easy to get to from downtown). I also love some of the Boka group restaurants (Boka, GT Fish & Oyster, GT Prime) but not some of the others (Girl and Goat, Little Goat). Another favorite, for bargain-priced neighborhood Italian cuisine, is Anteprima in Andersonville. You can find vegetarian and seafood options just about anywhere, including all of these.

One other possibility regarding difficulty in making reservations is, if you are trying to make a solo reservation (i.e. for a party of one), many restaurants don't accept those via the internet (such as on Opentable) but are happy to do so over the telephone.
