Clementine's Belgian Bistro - Mini Review

cajun-gwailo | May 14, 2005 11:28 AM

Got to try this place finally, it was really excellent. New Orleanians don't have much of a tolerance for "new" places. I hope they survive.

I love going to a place that doesn't have po-boys on the menu. Or
fried catfish. And isn't a chinese buffet.

Clementine's Belgian Bistro. Yum yum. Nope, no wait staff that looks like
smurfs, but honest nummy belgian fare, including very decent frites.

A bevy of salads, a half dozen types of moules, interesting entrees like
pork/veal meatloaf, fondue pour deux, as well as filet mignon fondue. Steak
frites. Chicken w/ tarragon cream sauce

And yes, both savory and sweet crepes. And a Belgian quaff or two.

$5-$7 for appetizers or salads. entrees in the $18 range.

2505 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, (504) 366-3995. Tues - Sats only. Not sure
about nooners. No waffles.
