Cleaning/Replacing French Press Filterscreens?

bk | Nov 27, 2005 11:18 AM

Hand washing and/or soaking my Bodum Columbia FP Filterscreen in hot water no longer seems to be doing the trick.

I have no dishwasher so, is there another better way to clean the sediment out my small filterscreen?

Alternatively, has anyone ever replaced a filterscreen on a Bodum Columbia French Press?

As you may be able to see from the attached photo, the screw hole(?) is very small and round and I can't figure out what type of tool is needed to disconnect the filter screen from the plunger stem?
