how to clean new aluminum stockpot

soaper | Oct 10, 200707:59 PM     4

just bought new aluminum stockpot for brewing beer, washed with soap and water and boiled a pot of water and let it cool, an oily scum was left on the top, cleaned again, boiled second pot of water, same only not as heavy, again cleaned, again boiled water, again same, this time poured some into glass and can see particles in the water. is there some kind of coating put on this product when manufactured? I'm stumped. is this normal? i've never used aluminum before, is it defective? (purchased at a restaurant supply store) thanx..
