We're booked for a few restaurants for the "week" but I noted that DiPalma's wasn't participating. YThis surprised me. When making my reservation today I asked the owner/chef and he said "we weren't invited; none of the old city restaurants were invited".
Then I looked at the list again and see that, correctly, there are none east of 12th St!(Sole Food) But as high as 24th St. (Bistro St. Tropez). This, of course means only two Stephen Starr Restaurants (el Vez and Alma De Cuba).
Maybe others noticed this before I did but it's interesting to see the Definition used of "Center City Philadelphia". With a few exceptions it means the area which contains very few on street parking spaces and lots of Valet parking.
So, maybe we can hope for a separate "Old City Restaurant Week" or at least an "East of 12th St. Restaurant Week".
Meanwhile, should anyone go to Bucco di Peppe during the "week", please post what they are providing for $30.00 per person for 3 courses. (This is at least 25% more than I think a person could spend there on three courses.)
