Clarification on Chow Outings for New Boston Hounds

I have to chime in here just for clarification.

There has been a lot of turmoil over Limster's recent invitation to a veggie chow banquet next week.

I too wanted to go, took a day or two to respond, and missed the boat. I snooze, I lose.

Keep in mind, Limster is already performing a public service by organizing the event. It is a pain to wrestle with e-mail from 20 folks and keep track of everything, nevermind arrange the menu, make a reservation, etc.

There is no official "us" and "them" in organizing an event. Limster is one person, not a service bureau responsible for running dinner reservations for hounds.

These chow events happen all of the time. They are like buses, miss one, another will be along soon. In fact, they are better then buses. Miss one, and you can arrange your own, and people will probably get on your bus!

In fact, if you don't like the way one is organized, organize another the way you want to. But once you post about the event on the board do not communicate about it on the board. That is one of the rules from the kind people who run chowhound. The board is about the food. Logistics for an outing should be handled via e-mail whether we like it or not.

In life you can bemoan the lemons that you end up with, or you can make one kickin' batch of lemonade.
