Looking for the city's best egg rolls.

RaeRenee | Apr 15, 201511:59 AM     2

I'm dying to find a place that serves really good, freshly made egg rolls.

Now, I'm not talking about Los Angeles-style vegetarian spring rolls, Thai style ones with glass noodles (though those are awesome), or ones that taste overwhelmingly of peanut butter.

I've tried all the places that deliver to Portage Park and have been *woefully* disappointed. It seems like the majority of places around here must buy them frozen from the same supplier. They trend towards tasteless cabbage mush with a little bit of mystery meat in them. I'm hoping for fresh rolls with cabbage, shrimp, and pork in them. If there are carrots and other veggies, even better!

I'm totally willing to jump in the car for good food. Also, I should mention that I'm 37 weeks pregnant and have been obsessing about finding good egg rolls for months now, SO THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. :-D

Thanks for your help! <3
