Heading to Luling next month to visit another great barbecue spot. I've heard the ribs are the best, but what else should I sample?
As to the other BBQ shrines, in order:
Kreuz: Brisket still outstanding. The clod may be even better, though.
Smitty's: A step (but maybe only a half-step, though) behind Kreuz.
Mueller's: Sausage a little greasy, but beef first-rate. Best atmosphere of em all.
Crosstown: Really liked the BBQ beef there. Underrated.
Southside: Not as spicy as I would have thought. A little disappointed.
Cooper's (Llano): Really disappointed for all the hype. The prices were steep, too. Too far a ride to visit Mason, though.
Anyway, looking forward to the ride along I-10 towards Luling. Suggestions appreciated.
