I had an excellent espresso last night at City Bean in Westwood (10911 Lindbrook Drive on the corner of Westwood). The barista tamped the grounds with the right amount of force, she ran the correct amount of water through the grounds, and she pre-heated the to-stay cup. The result was terrific. The coffee was rich and the crema was thick and creamy. It cost $1.45. I've been drinking a lot of fair-to-appalling espresso at Starbucks recently, so this was a great treat.
