Citrus canker/sichuan peppercorns & kaffir lime leaves

An article by Olivia Wu in today's SF Chronicle mentions that kaffir lime leaves of foreign origin are no longer allowed into the US - fortunately, there are domestic alternatives. (Thai food would not taste the same without these). The reason is the citrus canker - yes, the same one that makes it so difficult to find sichuan peppercorns. She says that this prohibition is not likely to be lifted anytime soon. Citrus crops in the US are at risk.....stock up now if you want sichuan peppercorns.
