Citarella To Go

Next to the Citarella restaurant is the take out place. I work around the area and today was my first time there for lunch. They have a variety of stuff - sandwiches, wraps, sushi rolls, salads, soups, packaged entrees like seared tuna over noodles, all with an emphasis on seafood. (The California rolls are made with real crabmeat) Everything is priced high which is pretty much the case anywhere in midtown. However, I think one decent deal is their pint of refrigerated soups. They have a wide variety (to name a few - gazpacho, pea, potato and leek, lobster corn chowder) Since the soups are cold, they need to be reheated. I bought a whole pint of the New England clam chowder for $3.99. It wasn't as rich as I would have liked it, but the flavor was good and it contained big pieces of clam and chuncky vegetables. No more Hale & Hearty or Daily Soup for me.
