We always do well on our own in Italy finding good restaurants, but I wanted to try a CH recommendation so we went to Cipolla Rossa last night (Sunday). We had an 8:30 reservation and the place was just about empty; only two other tables seated. We stayed until about 10:15 or so and only one other person came in. I guess Sundays are not very busy? The meal was very good but nothing better than other restaurants we hae eaten at in Firenze. I thought we were going to have an over the top experience.
I will post exactly what we had to eat another time but i found it odd that we ordered an antipasti to share; a primi each; and a secondi to share and for both items we wanted to share, they brought us full portions each but only charged us for 1. Very nice, but it defeated the idea of eating a little lighter. Has anyone else had this experience either ay CR or anwhere else in Italy?
