I am diving into the grilling season, determined to explore the wide and wonderful range of the nation's hot dog tastes, and I ran into an interesting "difference of opinion" by a few fans of the Cinncinati Chili Dogs. To those who are experts in
such things, I ask you, are red kidney beans an ingredient or not? And is there some "history" about how this came to be? At least one person on the web (elsewhere- hey, if it's not on Chowhound, how reliable can it be?) emphatically says that kidney beans are an abomination and that the real ingredients to be used here, are oyster crackers!
