Cinco de Mayo on Cortelyou

Brooklyn Boy | May 13, 2004 10:21 AM

A few nights ago my friend and I tried Cinco de Mayo on Cortelyou. The tips from fellow chowhounds turned out to be correct, meaning that it was nothing spectacular, but still decent. We tried cheese enchiladas, tacos (pork and beef), and rice and black beans. Everything tasted good and went well with the cold beers at 773 Lounge. The booths at 773 are great for take-out and, as always, the place was friendly and filled with characters. A homeless woman wandered in and pandhandled $1 from my friend. The bartender, after politely ushering her out, came over to our table, apologized, and reimbursed my friend's money. It made me want to move to Ditmas Park.

Does anyone know if Cornerstone has opened its kitchen? I noticed that RugB's replacement is still in progress.
