CINA in Astoria

Located at 45-17 28th Ave in Astoria, this intimate Romanian restaurant is a refreshing change for your appetite, and not bad on your wallet. Even if you have never tried Romanian food(like me), there is something for everyone and you won't be sorry. The owner greets you with a big hello and the wait staff is very friendly and efficient.
Monday through Sunday there is a lunch special. For only $7.00 you get soup or salad and one of many main dishes. If you prefer dining later, their prices range from $6.00 to $18.00 for the main course. Portions are generous.
My favorite dishes are:Tochitura Cu Mamaliguta, which is a stew of beef&pork tenderloin, sausages and smoked bacon. This comes with a side dish, I always eat the rice pilaf with this. Snitzel De Porc Pane, another one of my faves, is thinly pounded pork loin, breaded and pan seared. This will melt in your mouth. I like to have their homemade fries with this.
I have eaten all their desserts, and love them all. As you can see I eat there quite often, at least once a week.
Please come and try the CINA. It is a small family owned business that is trying to make it. We have taken many of our friends there and everyone was pleased. You will be too!
