Churros in Santa Rosa

Pete Hamann | Sep 13, 200512:53 PM

Hi there,

I am writing here because I have found a mostly-reliable source of churros in Santa Rosa. Some of you may already be aware (in fact, I first heard about thewm here) that Mr. Churro on Sebastopol road offers hot, fresh from the fryer churros 6 days a week. That's where the "mostly-reliable" part comes in to play. they are officialy closed on Saturdays, but I have gone there on other days and they weren't open. I figure that since they are open from 5-10 PM, they probably have a day job and I know that they have kids so I imagine that somedays it just doesn't happen. Anyway, they are at 1385 Sebastopol road. Coming from highway 12, get off at Stony Point and head south. Turn left at Sebastopol Road and Mr. Churros is on the right hand side just a little way down the street. Hours: 5-10 PM Sunday through Friday, closed Saturdays.
If it's dark out, look for the lighted stand. Also, there is a pretty big sign with the address on it that you can look for.

They offer stuffed churros, with your choice of Strawberry (fresa), caramel (my fav), a sweet condensed milk (lechera), or you can get them plain (good for dippin'!), and maybe one other flavor I can't think of right now. The lady makin' and dishin' the churros is a nice gal and she always has a smile for me and my wife when I show up and I get to practice my crappy spanish to boot.
