Went with a friend to Churrasco Buffet and Grill today after checking it out briefly a few days ago. This restaurant is pretty new (about 1 month i think) and is mostly a buffet. The food is sold by weight, and the price is 3.99 a pound. Not a bad deal, had plenty of food for about 6 dollars.

Nothing was outstanding, but much of the food was pretty solid. The menu is different each night of the week (there is a list of each item for each day on the takeout menu). There are also always grilled meats and always salad items.

From the grilled meat area I had sausage, which was good but a bit too dry. Also had the pork tenderloin, which was quite dry. Had a few chicken hearts (which I had never had before) which were possibly my favorite item, nicely seasoned and pretty tender. There was also some nice looking (but on the well-done side) steak, then also chicken....

Rice and beans and farofa were good. Not best ever, but definitely did the trick. Had cauliflower with alfredo sauce, a cold kale salad (very good), some caeser salad (not worth it) and some fried bananas (bananas, not plantains: they have plantains on saturdays though)....that might of been it. My reasonably full plate was under 6 dollars. 1 dollar more for a small bottle of Brasilin acerola juice made for a good, quick, meat-filled meal for 7 bucks.

There were quite a few things on the buffet that I didn't try (chicken, 2 other main dishes)....some stuff surely is better than other stuff. It's worth a visit though, and the staff is very friendly. Other days of the week seem to have more interesting menus with more brasilian specialties (i.e. friday and saturday

Churrasco Buffet and Grill is located around the corner from Wang's in Magoun Sq.....505 Medford St. Somerville
