Chuan Lu Garden - new authentic Sichuan style Chinese place in Orlando's Mills 50 District

Hellow Fellow Chowhounders!

Just wanted to share with you this great new place that just opened in the Mills 50 district. It serves up real authentic Chinese flavors and has some really interesting Sichuan style dishes. Overall, this may be the best Chinese restaurant in Orlando.

Chuan Lu Garden - www.chuanlugarden.com

They serve hand pulled beef noodles, spicy Sichuan dishes like ChongQing La Zi Chicken (spicy fried chicken), salt and pepper shrimp (delicately stir fried), hand made dumplings, and more...I am still trying them all! Some of the dishes are very hot on the spicy scale, but you can order it the level you are comfortable (for the most part). The hottest I tasted reminded me of "Thai hot" level spiciness if that means anything.

They also have dishes that have the Sichuan peppercorns in them that make your tongue slightly numb (it has a flowery, metallic spice taste but not very "hot spicy"). It really is different if you are adventurous. I would recommend the above, and also cumin lamb and salt and pepper squid.

It's attached to the Ginza steakhouse (same owners) by a hallway so it kind of feels like you're going to a speakeasy when you enter.

I took some photos on my blog from a recent visit and will update as I go.

Let me know if you visit and how it goes!
