After an earlier request/recommendation from this board today, my co-workers and I opted for Christaki's for lunch today...
WOW! Is the service always this bad? Four of us arrived around 12:45pm. There were 4 people eating inside the restaurant, and 2 tables of 2 eating outside. At our request, we were seated outside, and given menus. We didn't see an employee for 15 minutes when the person that sat us, finally brought us water and attempted to walk away. "We're ready to order." my co-worker said. "I'll be right back." says the server.
Another 15 minutes pass, and he comes back to take our order. 2 of us order chicken gyros, 1 orders falafel, and the other opts for greek salad. The server disappears again for 30 minutes, as our one hour lunch break has already expired. The server reappears with water refills, but no food in hand. When we inquire about our order, he says it's coming right out. Another 20 minutes pass, no sign of our food in sight, and a co-worker's cell phone begins to ring. It's her supervisor, asking why she hasn't returned from lunch. 10 more minutes pass, and I go looking for the server, who is again, nowhere to be found. Another co-worker's supervisor calls, and is told to report back to work immediately, or be written up.
Server shows up again for water refills, and when we tell him we can't wait any longer and ask to make our order to go, he gives us a look as if we're insane. He finally arrives with our food packaged to go and it takes him another 10 minutes to retrive our check.
We rushed back to work, and all ate in our individual cubicles. Although the consensus was great food, the service was atrocious. One hour and 45 minutes during non busy period for 2 gyros, 1 falafel, and a salad is unheard of! I'll have to take a half day off work to have lunch here again.
