The wife and I are planning a 7 day trip to southwest France in late winter/spring. We plan to stay in Bordeaux. We'll likely do a day trip to Arachon for oysters. Any other suggestions?
We're trying to get away from the "Frommer's" restaurant experience. When we we're in Paris a few years ago, we noticed that all the "authentic" places mentioned in the guidebooks we're full of Americans. We'd like to find some places on our return that are a bit more off the beaten track.
We are interested in cheese, wine, foie gras, seafood, truffles, and pretty much anything else worth sticking a fork in.
Thanks in advance!
