Chowing down with the SF Bay chowhounds!

Ruth Lafler | Nov 18, 200903:29 PM

The San Francisco Board has always been an active social community, but we could really use some new blood! In one of the replies to a report on a recent chowdown, someone asked wistfully how she could have been notified of the event, and so we thought we'd prominently post the information on signing up for the email lists for organizing chowdowns. This information is from the "New to this Board" sticky:

SF CHOWHOUND MEETUPS
Hounds love to eat, and they love to eat together. Anyone can plan a chowdown and announce it on the board (see the Etiquette for more: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/36760... ) but there are a some established regional groups of hounds who dine together, so you might want to get on their mailing lists:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svchowd...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ebchowd...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sfchowd...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nbchowd...

(sv=silicon valley/south bay; eb=east bay, sf=san francisco, nb=north bay)

We're in the process of running some polls on what locations and times would be most conducive to well-attended chowdowns, and we'll be running a poll soon to determine interest in planning another chowhound picnic next year, so please sign-up on any (as many as you want) of these lists ASAP.

Thanks, and hope to meet some of you soon!
