So, I took your recs from about a month ago, and I'll just give a brief of where we went.
Fresh off the plane Sunday morning- Dim Sum at Gold Mountain. Sumptous. We sat in the middle of a long table, so our wait wasn't long, and we got the full experience. We are fairly experienced Dim Sum'ers, but the staff was very helpful with us that don't speak chinese- they showed us what was under the lid, and told us the essential ingredient. I don't think I've eaten better shrimp dumplings in my life. Shrimp anything, for that matter.
We did hit Sam's Grill for Scallops one afternoon, which were great- juicy, sweet and plump.
Also- recommended to us by our bartender (at Fino- we stayed in the Andrews): House of NanKing. We had the Noodles in XO Sauce with shrimp, and the Sesame Chicken. Both dishes were wonderful- and the sweet potatoes that came with the Sesame Chicken were a great touch.
We made the mistake one tired evening and dropped off the cable car at Hyde St. Seafood. It wasn't *bad*, but well, we should have kept the reservation at Plouf, especialy for the money. My mistake, but we had walked from the Cliff House, past the GG Bridge, all the way to Ghiradelli Square (we are walkers, but that was a bit much even for us). I coudn't face the prospect of going back to the hotel to change, so, it looked cute- not the best reason to choose a place. We did cancel the res, and had a fair meal, but not a great on for the $.
Anyway- thanks all of you that helped me find places!
