Great forum, people! I've been checking it out for a little while now, and finally need some suggestions and advice of my own. I'll be in the city for ten days, with my hotel near MSG. I realize that's not the greatest location, and have no problem venturing out. While I thouroughly enjoy fine dining, I'd prefer to stay away from the totally over-the-top French places, and the like. I'll be doing most of my dinners solo anyway, and am looking for places that don't frown upon that. Other than that, I'm just like a lot other folks out there. I have a deep apprecition for stellar food and fantastic service. So ChowHounds, I'm looking for your best!! Help a guy out with a handful of your top NY Classics & Favorites in each category:
Extraodinary, yet simple Italian
An unforgettable NY steakhouse
New American that isn't TOO pretentious
Classic NY Pizza
Lunch Classics near Midtown/TS
Breakfast- the heartier, the better
Have I left anything out??
I'm a Detroiter, so lemme know if anybody is coming out for the SuperBowl next year! And yes, we actually have some suprisingly good places!!
Thanks Again to All!!
