Restaurants & Bars

Thank you Chowhounders.

I took your suggestions about places to eat while in Pentagon City. Monday night we ate at Thaiphoon. VERY GOOD food (and not as loud as its sister restaurant in Dupont Circle).

Tuesday we went to Lebanese Taverna. The manager, Michele, had us set up. Although only 6 from the group "dared" to eat Lebanese (the rest thought it would be too spicy) we sampled a wide variety of dishes (Hommos, Kibbeh, Baba Shannoge, Falafel, Shwarma, Salata Ardicha, Fatteh Blahmeh...

The food was excellent. The service was below par though (not too busy and waiter was not very attentive at all. My water glass was constantly empty.)

For desert we decided on Baklava and Ashta. The Ashta was wonderful. The Baklava was not overpoweringly sweet so it was enjoyable.

I just thought I'd send a "thank you" to the folks that made the suggestions. If you ever need to know where to eat in Austin...you know where to go.
