My fiance and I are visiting Chicago in a few weeks and we're very excited about checking out the Chicago food scene. We'll be there for 3 nights and we need to figure out a number of our meals. We have reservations for Alinea for our last night, so we need some more reasonably priced options to balance out the budget.

For one night, I'm down to Chilpancingo and Salpicon as we don't have any haute Mexican cuisine in Toronto.
For the next night we're thinking maybe more of a small plates type place. Currently we're down to the following:
- X/O Chicago
- Avec
- Cafe Iberico

We're very open to suggestions, whether it's one of those 3 or something different altogether. We both enjoy all types of cuisine, and all levels of dining.

For lunch, one day we're thinking of deep dish, and another day Italian Beef, so we'd be glad to hear of any favourites in those categories too.

We won't have a car but we're both willing to travel for good chow if accessible by the L. If it's superlative chow, we're willing to cab it.
