Chowhound with mission impossible for Vegas. Can anyone help

marc | Aug 12, 2001 03:55 PM

I will be in LV in late october and have two impossible missions.
1. I am with my family which means wife and a 3 1/2 daughter that cannot sit still more than 30 minutes and a 7 month old that sits still now but probably will want to crawl around by then. And my wife and I have not had a chance for a good meal together in over a year. We are staying at Mandalay Bay. Is there any really good place in LV that can serve us a great meal (we love combining food with different wines) and have some way to keep the kids occupied (like a play corner we can frequently run over to visit during a 2-3 hour meal)? Or can one order room service from the great restaurants in the hotel!!!??? We would not be comfortable leaving them with the sitter since the small one has never been away from Mom or Dad before and the older one does not speak much English (we live in Sweden).
2. Since this is also a work trip, I need to take about 30 people from FINLAND to dinner one night. Can Lotus of Siam handle this? Would I need to set a menu up in advance? Do they take credit cards? If not Lotus is there another place that would be good for 30 people and reasonably priced?
Thanks in advance for any help. If you need tips for Stockholm or Paris 3 feel free to email me or check out the international board.
