Well, I guess I landed back in the Chowhound doghouse again today.
While my wife, son and two of our friends were conducting a garage sale without my presence, I was Chowhounding all over the place.
First, I met with the Chinatown Walking Tour organizers for a Chinese Breakfast at the Utopia Cafe - 139 Waverly Street - San Francisco. Over warm, thick, Shrimp Congee (jook)loaded with shrimp, pork tripe, and other unidentified chewy objects; a small plate of chow mein and English Tea for $3.25 per person, we planned what should be a great shopping/eating spree in San Francisco's Chinatown. Details will be posted very soon, tour to be in mid-July.
Next, I met "EliseH" and a group of 7 for a buffet luncheon at Bombay Garden - 3rd Avenue - San Mateo and Indian Food Primer. It was lots of fun, very informative, and good company. Nice to finally meet the Shepherd, and I told him to be Goode! Gotta keep your eye on those Berkeley-types.
Luckily, I had stopped by Arizmendi Bakery (9th Avenue @ Irving Street)at 8:00 a.m. this morning for a "chocolate thing" (least favorite item); cherry & corn scone; raspberry scone (most favorite scone); currant scone and 3 pecan rolls for the Garage Sale crew, or I might still be locked in my Chowhoud cage.
Despite the growls, I had a great day. Thanks fellow Chowhounds for the company and chow reccomendations.
