Two great possibilities have just come 'online' in Arlington. Charrita taqueria -looks like carryout only- is now open at 2710 Washington Blvd. Someone mentioned a while ago that these are the same guys responsible for the great taco truck at Pershing and Rte. 50, across from Ft. Myer.
Then, in the same strip at Pershing and Rte. 50, Lillian's is back. Lillian's began here as a Salvadorean/Mexican place, then added Bolivian specialties -that's where the owner was from- and expanded to Arlandria. But both places closed down despite some good bumps in the Post. Now it looks like they've started back in the original location. They are still putting in some new tile, but the've already opened. The menu is now featuring more mex-mex, no Bolivian. Trout with a parsley sauce and a Yucutan T-Bone among the offerings. Waitress said it was the same owners as before, but there have been so many changes here lately, so not sure if we were talking about the same people.
Wound up carrying out two cheese pupusas, the aroma in the car was driving me wild, and when I got home they were truly amazing.
