I'm celebrating my 10th anniversary on Chowhound. As a tribute to the original purpose and anti-bandwagon philosophy of this website, I challenge you to choose and post one (1) chowfind that YOU discovered in 2014. In other words, name one memorable, above-average eating experience or place that you visited PRIOR to reading a review (or judging its neighbourhood favourably - in other words, if a new eatery opened at the corner of Hipster Avenue and Fashionista Lane, and you went there on opening day prior to the twitterati explosion two days later, that doesn't really count, does it?) Many of us "take one for the team" off the beaten path, with disastrous results (financially and otherwise). If you didn't have any positive chowfind success, perhaps share one place to avoid (or a funny anecdote about their cluelessness).
I'm betting that you can't find a better pizza in the GTA than at Cellar Door at 3003 Lake Shore Blvd W (at Ninth) in New Toronto. Wood oven, thin crust, perfect, every single visit in 2014. Just go for the pizza, and see how it fares. Guaranteed winner.
