Chowdown at Traktir

Mad Russian | Nov 22, 2004 05:38 PM

Chowhounds,

By popular demand, I am organizing a chowdown at Traktir for Wednesday, December 1. We aleady have a couple of takers, so the chowdown is definitely on. Please email me if you are interested. I expect that we will make reservations for 8:00.

Traktir is located at 4036 Balboa at 41st Ave. It specializes in Georgian cooking (the original Georgia, in the Caucasus), and has previously been known to be very good. For those unfamiliar with Georgian food: it is in the same extended family as Greek and Turkish, but with a distinct flavor palette all its own.

Depending on the crowd, we may be able to recreate the traditional Georgian table athmosphere (which develops naturally after about a bottle of wine has been consumer per person).

We remain hopeful that the normal entropy of FUSSR establishments in the Bay Area has not made inroads into Traktir's kitchen. We know already that the concept of service never penetrated this eatery in the first place.

Hope to see you there,
Mad Russian
