Chopstixx Cafe, Elkridge MD

Off a suggestion from a coworker, fiance and I took a chance on Chopstixx Cafe in Elkridge. It's Chinese food with some japanese and thai dishes thrown into the mix. Honestly, it was a very rocky start. The area isn't the best, and its very unassuming from the outside. I was expecting a straight out sit down restaurant and I found a take out counter that also had about 6 tables but I wasn't sure if I was to order at the counter and sit, or if they'd come take our orders (they do.)

We ordered Gyoza and Beef Satay to start. The steamed gyoza were above average, but the sauce was the best dumpling sauce I'd ever had. We liked these so much, we ordered another serving, pan fried, which is possibly the only way to make the first dish better. The beef satay was also very good.

As for entrees, I wanted to try the orange beef, but they were out of the beef needed for that dish. I opted for honey sesame shrimp instead, fiance went with Chicken and Veg on Udon noodles. The shrimp were bigger than I had expected and perfectly crisp. I ordered sauce on the side (key to this dish!) so it didn't get soggy. Also the steamed broccoli was picturesque. I have to say that had the food been slathered in the sauce it would have been overkill. The sauce was good in small doses. Fiance's udon arrived in a small boat. It was an enormous amount of food, and of course he ate it all without complaint. I tried some and it was tasty.

Chopstixx also has an extensive bubble tea, smoothie, ice/hot tea selection. We had mango ice tea and thai ice tea served in big plastic cups.

All in all, Chopstixx Cafe is highly recommended. It was the best local restaurant meal I've had in a while. The pricing is very affordable! There's no liquor, and they serve canned soda. They also participate in which you can use to peruse their offerings.
