Chopped Chicken Liver?

While sauteing some chicken livers, they exuded so much liquid that I had to remove livers from the pan and dump the liquid so that they wouldn't braise. As I was curious, I weighed the finished livers and found that 1 lb had become only 2 oz more than 1/2 lb.

I followed my usual process of hot pan, bubbling butter before adding the livers, and I had never experienced this before.

This was also the first time I used Bell and Evans livers which come in prepackaged plastic tubs that are very annoying to open.
