In a Connecticut grocery store I was looking at this messy object near the deli and got talked into buying it. Lady said, "That's chopblock bread!" like I was from the moon.
The bread substance was not unlike challah, and there were roasted peppers, onions, and various meats randomly folded (chopped?) in large pieces into the dough. Hard to describe. Sort of like a dyslexic pizza. It tasted okay, but not better than a good sandwich.
Anyone ever hear of this? Is there a classic version?
