I have been reading up on your board trying to decide on a pressure cooker and decided I would just let you all know what I wanted from it, and you could help me decide. TIA.
So, I initially came across pressure cooking bc of that infomercial for power pressure cooker. Now I know NEVER to buy from TV, so I started researching, my crock pot finally kicked the bucket so I thought that the instant pot would be perfect for my needs. I am a mother of a 5 and 3 year old and have 1 on the way. I homeschool my kids so my days are busy to say the least. I want something that can help me keep cooking times at a minimum and I need something that can withstand me getting distracted by the multiple interruptions I get from my kids (that why I initially wanted an electric) But the more I read comparisons, it seems so many people prefer the stove top versions. Right now I have a gas stove and I know that works well with them, but I am a military wife, so in a few years there is no telling what kind of stove I will have in our next home. Also, I am worried that a 6qt won't be big enough for our growing family.
I want to be able to do all kinds of recipes in my PC, but bc of my kids 2 dishes that get cooked a lot and are very important are spaghetti and mac and cheese(I HATE box M&C). I love the idea of making pasta in 1 pot with no boiling water and draining. I have been reading the Hip pressure cooking website, and she says that tomato sauces will scorch in the instant pot. I also read a post where a couple of people were having problems with that happening on their stove top versions. So I am just not sure what to do. Thanks for any help.
Also, I only want SS pot as I don't care for teflon.
