Choffy

Hey I was just wondering if anyone else has tried Choffy out there. If so, did you like it? How did you prepare it?

I couldn't find anything on chowhound about it.

I'm a big fan a artisanal chocolate and I was told by some people that Choffy, or any of the other brewed cacao bean products out there, is delicious. The Choffy website says tastes "fabulous."

I just bought some and gave it a try. It's not that great.....kind of weak. I was expecting this intense bitter chocolate taste but without the sugar. But my first batch tasted like....hot water.

I used a little more than a tablespoon of the grounds for about 12 oz of water (it says that it brews just like coffee), let it brew in a french press for about 5 minutes. My second batch I increased the grounds to 4 tablespoons for the same amount of water, and left in to brew for longer (7-8 minutes maybe) and that helped, but it was still pretty weak.

Am I doing something wrong?
