Thanks for taking the time to read,
I wanted to make truffles like you would get from the drugstore. I know, it doesn't sound very appealing but I just love them. In other words I'm looking for a truffle recipe made of Chocolate and solid fat/oil.
I don't like truffles made of butter and icing sugar.
And I don't like chocolate and cream truffles because they are basically ganache, which I also don't like.
The only recipes I can find close to what I want are gross low carb or raw diet truffles that basically have no sugar and are made with cocoa powder instead of chocolate (which has more flavor).
I had made a small test batch with a recipe that I came up with. I thought it turned out really well but It wasn't as sweet as I wanted.
2 Oz Milk Chocolate
1 Oz Refined Coconut Oil
Food Grade Orange Essential Oil
They were nice and melty but far to delicate to handle and to solid to form.
So I melted it again and put it in chocolate molds.
Let it set and popped them out with ease.
Now they just need to be dipped in chocolate.
But I was still wondering if anyone else has tried? has a recipe? Or any suggestions?
Thanks so much for all responses :)
