I wonder if others can say where they had the best souffle's in New York City? I'm talking about souffles prepared the classic way - not too heavy, yet airy enough and with a lingering aroma and fantastic taste.
I've had a couple of good souffle's in New York - La Petite Auberge on 28th and Lex makes a very good one, although the food otherwise is quite mediocre, and I've had good ones at other restaurants (like 11 Madison, Lutece or Lespinasse) but nothing that blows me away like the souffles i had in France at Louis XV etc, where they seemed ethereal.
In fact, I don't think I've had a souffle in NYC that even compares to Commanders Palace's bread pudding souffle in New Orleans.
Wondering if others know of places that serve souffles in nyc that I just don't know about.....
