chocolate chip cookies in Lahaina

emily | Jan 4, 200404:10 PM     4

When I was kid in the 1980s, we used to visit Maui a few times a year and one of the food treats that stood out for me were chocolate chip cookies. These cookies came from a bakery located on the first floor of the Wharf (shopping center) on Front Street across from the old Banyan tree. The cookies were at least 4" across, a darker brown color and were crispy and chewy all at once, with a very distinctive flavor that I haven't had since. Does anyone remember the name of this bakery per chance? I've contacted a food editor at the Star Bulletin and done google searches to no avail.
