my friend has challenged me to make a chocolate babka which will rival some childhood Ur-babka that exists only in his mind. i know i can never achieve such a lofty goal, but maybe i can come close?
the rub: i've never made a babka before!!!
can anyone help/advise, please? i found this recipe online, and purchased all the necessary ingredients, but it really does seem like a lot of work for something that comes with no letters of recommendation.
any babka-experts out there with tips for me? does this recipe look okay? or do you have a preferred recipe/method that you can recommend?
