Cho Ga Korean Restaurant- KC

A friend and I went to this place last night. It's located on 103rd and Metcalf in Overland Park.

It was our second time, and the food is pretty good. They give you free kimchi with your order, and also free rice tea. We ordered the marinated cross cut short ribs. They were just smoky enough, and very tender. The sauce also accented the smokiness very nicely. All in all, it's probably on par with any other Korean food you can get in the metro area.

The only gripe I had last night was that the waiter misunderstood our order and brought us two orders of barbecue when we had only ordered one. We, of course, didn't want the second order, and the moment we sent it back, the guy copped a serious attitude. He grew chilly, and basically ignored our table for the remainder of the night. Then, to take the cake, he came by and said that since we'd only ordered one barbecue, that there was a charge of 3.95 for the rice. This is some of the worst service I've gotten in quite a while.

So, if you like good Korean, and can tolerate bad service, then Cho Ga is the place to go.
