Anyone have a source for real chipped beef? (Slightly dried, lightly smoked)
This used to be a staple at every deli, sliced to order, or at least pre-packaged.
Haven't seen it for eons but came across an old family "brunch" recipe and it made me hungry for it. (No SOS made with bacon fat/flour gravy. Instead this version has sour cream, mushrooms and sherry.)
My searches have only turned up bad recipes and worse restaurants. Lone exception was Bud's Custom Meats in Penngrove, but would like to double check and see if someone has actual knowledge of a source and the quality.
